Patrimonial Heritage

Taught in Spanish

overview

The course aims for the student to know first, and then analyze, the Costa Rican heritage in its different variables: natural, socio-cultural and constructed. The theoretical foundations of the environment will be studied in relation to the concept of heritage, as well as its essential relationships with the particular context of Costa Rica. In this sense, the course will pay special attention to the direct knowledge of the different types of Costa Rican cultural heritage, with emphasis on its intangible and tangible variables and, within the latter, the historical-architectural heritage.
